Things to Do

So much to discover…

Nantucket is filled with fun adventures for all ages. Below is a list of some of the things we enjoy and sources with the most up-to-date information. We hope you enjoy your time and fall in love the Island as much as we have!

Below are some of our favorites places and things to do to help get you started!

  • Streaming platforms

There are three TVs in the house, each has access to Disney+, Amazon Prime, YouTubeTV, Netflix, Hulu and more. If you sign in, please remember to sign out before you leave.

    “Lobstah Dinnah”

Nothing better than an authentic Nantucket lobster dinner. The great thing is you can do it right here! You’ll find a lobster pot in the kitchen. Our favorite place to get lobsters is Sayles. You can buy everything you need for a great dinner from them. (You will also find claw cracker and seafood forks in the silverware drawer).

    1. Boil a large pot of water with salt

    2. Grasp the lobster by the body and lower it upside down and head first into the boiling water. Continue to add the live lobsters to the pot in this manner. Cover the pot.

    3. Note the time at which the water comes to a boil again. From that point, boil the lobsters for 10-20 minutes or longer, depending on the size of the lobster. 10-13 minutes for 1 lb lobster, 12-18 minutes for a 1 1/2 pound lobster, 18-23 minutes for a 2-3 pound lobster. The lobsters should be a bright vivid red color when done.

Note that larger lobsters will turn bright red before they are completely finished cooking, so you do want to time your cooking, and not just go on color alone.

    4. Remove the lobsters from the pot with tongs and place on a plate to drain and cool.

    Beach Gear

We have 4 beach chairs, 1 umbrella and beach toys on the premises for your use, free of charge. They can be found in the plastic tan shed in the driveway. Please note, there is other gear in there for our other rental, so please only use what we've made available to you. Beach towels can be found in the upstairs linen closet.
